Transcript
Spotify's desktop app wraps your music in a browser engine. Fastpotify, now Spotifast, is a native Rust client playing through librespot at up to 320 kbps. It appears as a Spotify Connect device, starts in well under a second, and typically runs on 100 to 250 megabytes of RAM. Playback needs Spotify Premium, but your library runs in one lightweight app.
